The GateHouse Maritime Connect platform is based on the standard System Management/Monitoring product Nagios. AIS Monitor is a combined client-server solution with a server monitoring the entire system. Errors and warnings from other components in the system are reported to the monitoring system. In addition, the monitor server will poll other parts of the system for their status. The polling will be done using the available protocols: SNMP, ping etc.
