Service operation and hosting

Systems can be hosted by you or by GateHouse at either your site or at a hosting center. In either case, GateHouse performs condition based and preventive maintenance on the systems. For customers worldwide, we have local partners (or our customers’ internal IT departments) performing onsite repairs in cooperation with GateHouse engineering support.

Condition based maintenance

Condition based maintenance is performed by setting up surveillance systems (e.g. Nagios) and by daily execution of check lists. Such tasks include server health check (e.g. availability, disk space, memory and I/O resources, log file analysis, backup check, standard software security patches, and hardware inspection), radio performance (e.g. output power, reflected power) and general measures like temperature and humidity.

Preventive maintenance

Preventive maintenance is individually scheduled to minimize the probability of service breakdown. Mechanical equipment like disks, air conditioners, and fans are serviced or renewed according to MTBF specifications. Remote sites are visited and inspected according to well defined service schedules.
