Following the sale of the subsidiary GateHouse Logistics in 2018, GateHouse is now embarking on the next growth adventure. This starts with the establishment of the incubator company GateHouse Igniter, which will invest in as well as support new growth companies within the company’s core markets: B2B software in satellite communications and in the maritime industry. The new CCO in GateHouse, Ulrik Rasmussen, says:
– With the establishment of GateHouse Igniter, we will build on GateHouse’s core competencies: Business-critical software solutions within both maritime AIS data and satellite communications. The market for small satellites is going through a rapid development which constitutes a great potential for our company. Similarly, within the maritime industry, the progress of the digital transition leads to an increasing need for data sharing and data processing as well as the development of B2B software solutions for smart ports, he says and tells that investments in the first promising growth companies have already been made:
– We have already made the first investments, but we are still looking for Danish startups to support. The common denominator is digital solutions for the satellite industry as well as the maritime industry. The companies we are looking for must offer a unique growth case, and they should also fit our values and culture. In return, they get a well-established and financially solid company behind them with extensive experience in developing and marketing software solutions for various markets worldwide.
GateHouse are looking into increasing its staff across the group’s companies. The new employees are hired to support the newly established GateHouse Igniter as well as helping to further develop GateHouse. Claus Svendsen, HR-manager at GateHouse, says:
– GateHouse Igniter has been founded to support the associated growth companies within a number of functions. This applies to everything from software development, sales, marketing, legal assistance, etc. At the same time, we have the ambition to strengthen the two original subsidiaries’ positions in the market, where the employments will help to fulfill those ambitions, he says.
GateHouse is looking for a wide range of employee profiles for the headquarters in Nørresundby:
– We have already employed some new staff, and we are looking for even more skilled engineers and IT specialists as well as profiles with competencies within sales and marketing. We are looking for a wide range of profiles and employees who have the courage and desire to become part of our future growth journey. This journey starts with new physical premises this autumn, as we have already grown out of our current premises, he concludes.
